TheForgottenStreet Endorses Jenerette

TheForgottenStreet have come out publicly and endorses Katherine Jenerette, Christine O'Donnell, and Marco Rubio.

"Just up the road in South Carolina, a dynamic, conservative Gulf War veteran, a woman whose background as a paratrooper will serve her well, is making a race out of it in the Republican bid for the First Congressional District in the Palmetto State.  Katherine Jenerette offers voters a true fiscal conservative with solid American values.

I’ve had the pleasure of talking with her about the issues we face in our nation.  I found her intelligent, informed and impassioned.  I can assure you that she will bring a fresh voice to the halls of Congress to fight the socialist dreams of Nancy Pelosi and her band of thieves.  Please learn more about Katherine at www.jenerette.com"

Doesn't Everyone Have Favorite TEA Party Candidate?

KUDOS to the Liberal blog, DownWithTyranny!
"It isn't only progressive heroes like Doug Tudor, Alan Grayson, Connie Saltonstall and Bill Hedrick who have been sharing their thoughts on healthcare with us. You must know about my affinity with the Sarah Palin of the Confederacy, South Carolina congressional candidate Katherine Jenerette. She's fascinating, and I'm rooting for her to bring the Old South Crazy to new heights and give Virginia Foxx, Michelle Bachmann and Mean Jean a run for their money.

Predictably, Katherine wasn't jumping up and down over the Republican Party debacle of Sunday night, and she's not exactly a fan of effective healthcare reform. But she sure did send out one of the most entertaining press releases on the subject that I've seen. Sit back and try to get into it. This one makes Randy Neugebauer and Joe Wilson seem blasé" - DownWithTyranny

Another Jenerette Video

I saw that a fellow supporter on Katherine's Facebook Fan Page posted a video of when Katherine was running for Senate in 2004.  I still wanted to highlight Katherine and the video on my page to let people know this is exactly the type of patriot we need in Congress!

Federalized Health Care Passage: Saint Vitus Dance for Republicans

 Katherine Jenerette Press Release
Round One of the Socialized Federalized Medicine-Man fight is over.

As soon as President Obama signs on the dotted line, Round Two will be initiated with a herd of raging bull Attorneys General (AG) from around the country; all in a charge at the red cape of the constitutionality of congress to mandate the purchase of health insurance by individual citizens.

It’s a set up guys. Obama and his brain trust are out in front on this one. They put the ‘thou-shalt-purchase’ clause in the bill deliberately knowing every freedom-loving, red-blooded Republican AG would charge. They intend to have the Republican’s object to this in bit-and-pieces instead of a full frontal attack that the ENTIRE Bill is unconstitutional.

We Republicans bit the bait real good, but, it was a Trojans horse covered with shiny stuff like the abortion debate; deliberately set to get our attention. While all along, ‘Obamanistas’ fully expect that the Supreme Court will strike down the parts that mandate a person will buy insurance or they will pay through the nose to BigFed one way or another. There are bigger problems ahead, so save some ammo.

We had a saying when I was in the desert in the first Gulf War, ‘It’s not just the mouse that ran through the tent you need to worry about – it’s the viper that’s chasing the mouse you better be afraid of.’

When the Supreme Court decision is finally made – with the anticipated ruling, the bumper sticker “I Heart Socialized Medicine” liberal crowd will pull out the already prepared Round Three plan: Public Option in tandem with the Federal Government picking up the tab incrementally to offset the loss.

“But, what else can we do? We can’t leave people without health care can we?” Liberals will sob as the complete implementation of socialized; taxpayer health care is implemented with Under New Management Federal Clinic signs being put up over the old Mayo Clinic signs, and hospitals across the country, et.al.

It’s part of the plan. For example, do you believe that Obama just wrote that Executive Order about Federal Funding of Abortions in the eleventh hour before the vote? That thing was written months ago and held to the last minute to make it look like some kind of ‘real’ concession to the hold-outs.

The liberal guys are not some lightweights. They have a plan while we Republicans do a Saint Vitus Dance jerking around the details and nickel-and-diming our attacks that should have been coordinated years ago. It’s not like the Democrats didn’t start this with Clinton Care in the early 1990s.

Anyway, it’s critical that we need to understand their game and focus on a way to repeal this bill and counter it with workable market approaches to health care with the doctors providing that care and the patients at the center of gravity:

(1) States should implement; as difficult as it is, meaningful health care reform for its citizens at the appropriate level of government. Health Care is a real problem.

(2) States should intervene and represent any citizens of their state that the Federal Government decides to fine for failure to purchase insurance.

(3) States should facilitate competition in health care providers and health care facilities, and increase the number of students entering medical and nursing schools.

(4) Republicans better send ‘Constitutional Gun-Fighters’ and thinkers to Congress.

(5) States should band together – repeal the 17th Amendment, and take their Senators back. This action will give the states a place at the table in Washington and put teeth into State Sovereignty again.

If we thought the nightmare of the Federal ‘No Child Left Behind’ program was hard to deal with, just wait for General Hospital USA. Hold your ears and don’t dance to the liberal’s song.

Shamrock Invitational Track and Field Meet...

Shamrock Invitational Track and Field Meet

This weekend Benjamin Jenerette, one of Katherine's daughters will be participating in Shamrock Invitational Track and Field meet.  She will be competing in two events, the 1500m and 800m.  Coastal Carolina University will be hosting the invitational.  I would like to wish Benjamin the best of luck in both of the events she will be participating in.  I would also like to mention that Benjamin is only 13 years old, competing against collegiate level athletes.  In November 2009, Benjamin was named to South Carolina's All State Team and was also recognized as one of the National Elites National Silver Standard Runners after competing in the 2009 State Cross Country Championship meet at Sand Hills Research Center, Columbia.  It seems that young Benjamin is running her way into her mother's footsteps with a stellar track record, Katherine was honored as NCAA "Big South" conference runner in 1994 while attending Coastal Carolina University.

"She is ranked 1st in five Outdoor Track events in South Carolina for her class and is 12th in the Nation USATF Youth. Benjamin is listed in the MileSplit 2009 United States Outdoor Track & Field 1500m Rankings as third for her class in the Nation." -Jenerette.com

Miracle Baby

Katherine explains her pro-life stance eloquently and passionately,

February 10, 2010

When is the right time to talk about the very personnel side of the abortion issue? And what is the proper forum? I’m not sure.

Abortion is a very personal thing – for two very real human beings; a mother and her child.

To me, the Focus on the Family ad featuring former Florida Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mother is more than just an ad – it gives a voice to the other side of the abortion issue that is usually silent.
This is my story.

We have always called my daughter Benjamin, who was just named the Sun News ‘Toast of the Coast – Runner of the Year’ for High School Girls Cross Country our miracle baby.

Anyway, when I was well into my pregnancy with Benji – I was told us that there were serious development problems and that if I tried to carry the baby to term it could endanger my life.

I was a student at Coastal Carolina University-USC and had already been named to the NCAA Track & Field Big South Conference in 1994 and had stopped my training for the Boston Marathon right after I found out I was pregnant.

Any woman who heard what the doctor told me knows how those words cut right to the bottom of everything. You never forget that day. At the time I had a two year old son, Christian.

I’m not saying I was brave or even principled or even smart; I just know that I couldn’t go ahead with what the doctor strongly recommended. I was a mom – and my baby was my baby.

Week-by-week then day-by-day until the morning Benjamin was born I prayed and I promised things and I was very scared. It wasn’t the last time – I now have four children.

But, after all of these years I know that I would have to do it that same way all over again – and it wouldn’t matter if Benjamin was Runner of the Year or just a teenage girl doing math homework in after school detention – she was and always will be my baby. And that’s how I saw her from the moment she was alive inside of me.

Like I said, I’m not sure when and where the right time to talk about abortion is.

Here is what I do know; all four of my children are miracle babies.

Every baby is a miracle baby.

"ALOHA, ALL! Will they do it?  will the Democrats march off the cliff to support 0bamaCare? It truly is a suicide mission, similar to those who shout “Allahu Akbar” before killing themselves (and others.)  ”Allahu Akbar” translates to “Allah is the Greatest” so it sure seems like the Dems battle cry is “0bama Akbar,” doesn’t it?  All indications are that this week is when the decision will be made.  Don’t let up….don’t give in….CALL THESE PEOPLE:  Swing Votes on 0bamaCare My friend Greg wrote an excellent overview of what 0bamaCare would mean if it passes.  Check it out HERE and also read his Facebook group, Soldiers Without Boots.  The link is in the blogroll sidebar.  Here’s another short (not-so-sweet) overview:  5 Facts About 0bamaCare For updated information on where the votes are, check out Code Red.  Bottom line:  we have to do everything we can to stop this.  It’s not about healthcare, it’s about control! Confirmed Events from Team Jenerette...

I am compiling a list of events that Katherine Jenerette will be speaking at soon.  If you are in the area and can make it to an event, I highly encourage you to hear Katherine speak.  There are honestly not to many people who can catch and hold my attention for long periods of time, but Jenerette is definitely one of them.  Jenerette like Sarah Palin is proving to be the reincarnation of the great Ronald Reagan.  Like Reagan and Palin, Jenerette has increasing support from conservative grassroots movement, grew up with similar traditional values,  undeniable patriotic love for her country, attending similar schools (Reagan-Eureka University; Palin-University of Iowa; Jenerette-Coastal Carolina), and public service career as US Army Paratrooper, Persian Gulf War Veteran, and Commissioned Officer.

Jenerette: A Tea Party Inventor? - Steve Maloney

Here is a great article from my friend Steve Maloney on Katherine Jenerette..  You can view the original post on Steven's blog here.

Katherine Jenerette, a woman on a mission . . .

"A man's right to work as he will, to spend what he earns, to own property, to have the state his servant and not his master; they are the essence of a free economy and on that freedom all our other freedoms depend." - Margaret Thatcher

I'll be writing this weekend about my friend -- and superb congressional candidate -- Katherine Jenerette. As you know, she's running for the congressional seat in South Carolina's 1st District, one that stretches from Charleston, through Myrtle Beach, to the North Carolina border.

A South Carolina newspaper recently identified Katherine as the "inventor" of the Tea Party Movement. Actually, the original Tea Party in Boston Harbor occurred a couple of hundred years before Katherine was born.

In fact, the spirit of the Tea Party Movement has always been alive in this land. Katherine and millions of other Americans are the ones that are the guardians of that spirit. What can you do for Katherine? First, sign up as one of her fans/friends on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Katherine-Jenerett/193243500669 Then, go to her web site and help her in any way you can www.jenerette.com.

“Katherine Jenerette of North Myrtle Beach, an Army paratrooper, was essentially a Tea Party activist before there were Tea Parties, and she's already a crowd favorite with that group; listen to the moderator's introduction. A former field employee for Brown, she ran against him from the right in 2008 and won 19 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.”

Neutrality? Google's Dirty Little Secret by Steve Maloney

Neautrality? Google's Dirty Little Secret By Steve Maloney
Search neutrality is relatively simple.  It means search engines like Google should "play fair.  It shouldn't do what it obviously does: provide favorable (top of page 1) links to its sponsors;  discriminate (as it does) against other, smaller search engines; and favor one political figure (say, Barack Obama) over another political figure (say, your favorite conservative), which it also does.

If you want to find favorable links to stories about Michelle Obama, no problem.  But if you want to find on page 1 favorable treatments of Sarah Palin, you'll often be out of luck.

This isn't necessarily a case of malice from the top.  Rather, it's probably the same thing we see in the MSM, people who work for a company trying to get ahead by mimicking the prejudices of their bosses.  "Go alone to get along" -- or, "Google along to get ahead."   Trust me, the same "spirit" prevails at the NY Times and MSNBC.

Also, if you'd like, reference the excellent, short piece about search neutrality that recently appeared in RedState.com.  [Link below]
“Don’t Be Evil*” | RedState      - By SteveMaloneyGOP

Excerpt from Red State on how Google obliterated a competitor:

After a 30-year career in the law, Dominique Barella left his job as president of the main union for French judges in 2006 and started a Web site, Ejustice.fr, that lets users search for legal resources in France.…[W]ithin a few months, it was attracting up to 20,000 visitors a day and selling a modest amount of advertising. That, Mr. Barella says, is when the trouble with Google began.

Overnight, traffic plunged - because, Mr. Barella says, the company stopped indexing pages from Ejustice.fr for inclusion in Google's search engine.

If Google can effectively shut down a small business, which, arguably, isn't even in competition with Google, what restraint DOES the company have?

Thanks for your help!

Benjamin Jenerette improves with age...

A recent article from The Sun News featured Benjamin Jenerette, who was recently named "Toast of the Coast" female runner of the year.  Please keep in mind, Benjamin started running roughly two years prior to be named female runner of the year.  Benjamin like her mother, Katherine are natural born athletes with some amazing God-given talents.  Katherine attended Coastal Carolina on a Track and Field scholarship and participated in US Army All European Track & Field Championship.  Katherine then went on to "walk on" at USC Coastal and while there she was recognized as one of the top runners in her region. Benjamin is a perfect example of a few things: God-given talent, good genetics, diligence, and an incredible work ethic.  There is no doubt that Benjamin takes after Katherine in this aspect and will continue to grow and prosper in Track and Field.  Zola Bud, a former Olympian is one of Benjamin's running coaches, along with her mom, Katherine.
Budd recently commented on her talented protege Benjamin...
"With that kind of talent she can achieve anything she puts her mind to."

Katherine is a Commissioned Officer serving in the U.S. Army Reserve and an Army Paratrooper and is currently assigned to the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C. Jenerette is part of the military’s highly specialized Civil Affairs teams which forms the nucleus of the Army’s Civil-Military operations expertise for both Army Special Operations (SOF) and conventional forces. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Airborne school at Ft. Benning, Georgia, the Mobilization Civil Affairs Course (MCAC) at Ft. Bragg, NC and the Military Police Corps Officer LeadershipCourse at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Carolina,Coastal Carolina Campus on a Cross Country and Track scholarship. While in the Army, Katherine had competed in the U.S. Army All European Track and Field Championships and was a ‘walk-on’ at USC Coastal where she was recognized as one of the region’s top runners when she was named to the NCAA Track & Field Big South Conference in 1994. She graduated from CCU with a degree in History in 1995 and earned her Masters Degree from USC, Columbia in 1997. In February 2000, Katherine represented her hometown of North Myrtle Beach in the Mrs. South Carolina International Pageant at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort. Katherine is currently an Adjunct Professor of History and has taught American History, Western Civilization and African American History.

Grace Stevens AKA "Amazing Grace"

Grace Stevens was one of many fantastic patriotic women who went to work in manufacturing positions during World War II.  While husbands, brothers, sons, uncles, and nephews were out fighting, Grace Stevens left her role as a traditional housewife to help support her family during the war.  In 1943, Ms. Stevens cleaned and packed parachutes for two years at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Katherine sees Ms. Stevens as a role model and an American hero.

Katherine on Grace Stevens....
"After the war was over, they asked her to stay on, but she was ready to go back home to Pennsylvania. She is an inspiration to today's women serving in the military. She's an American hero.  For Ms. Grace looking back she acts like it was nothing to have been a part in the shaping of our military heritage.  I can't imagine the conditions and the pressure that she was under given the time period.  She is just as tough as any paratrooper out there; and if she could have been on jump status, she would have excelled.  I am inspired by her attitude that you only get so much time on planet Earth, you might as well make the most of it.  And at 100 years old, she still has that attitude."

Some more words from DaTechGuy

"I’ve written quite a bit about Katherine Jenerette’s campaign for the SC-1 seat for a guy who lives in north central Massachusetts, but if you want to actually hear what she has to say in her own words in front of the voters who will actually decide if she will represent them, here is your chance..."

"Ironic. If the Cradle-to-Grave-ObamaCare goes down in flames, it won’t be due to powerful Washington players or big money.
It will be the voices of thousands of unborn children and some brave Congressman who stood their ground concerning Federal Funding with Tax Dollars and those unborn children.

Katherine Jenerette: Courageous Carolina Candidate

Courageous Carolina Candidate by Steve Maloney

"Someone recently said of Katherine Jenerette (see SteveMaloney's previous column the day before here..) that if a man had her resume, he'd probably be a US Senator and perhaps on the way to a nomination for the presidency. Anyone who looks honestly at Katherine's life finds a very bright, honorable, courageous individual. I look at Katherine as a dear friend and an exemplar of just about everything that's good about my fellow Americans.

Katherine Jenerette is a U.S. Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War Operation Desert Storm and a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina with a Masters Degree from USC, Columbia. She served as U.S. Congressional Field Representative for the First Congressional District, South Carolina. She is married and the mother of four children and an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.

She was recognized as one of the region's top runners when she was named to the NCAA Track & Field Big South Conference in 1994 and in 2000, Katherine represented her hometown of North Myrtle Beach in the Mrs. South Carolina International Pageant.

American deserves a Congressman like her and we need to help her win the race for the House seat in SC's. She can if she raise just one-third of the money her better heeled competitors will accumulate for their campaigns. Yes, she needs your support. And with an adult lifetime of service to her community, state, and country, I'd argue she deserves your support. If you afford a $20 contribution, please go ahead and donate.

Can a representative of middle-class America like Katherine win a seat in a House of Representatives (or the Senate), two chambers overloaded with millionaires? As Hamlet said, "That is the question."

Southern Political Report said of Katherine: “While insiders question her ability to win either the nomination or the General Election, they note she has several advantages, including some name ID from her 2008 race, being from Horry County in a primary field possibly dominated by Charleston area contenders, and being the lone female in a race with a half-dozen or so males. “She’s sort of an outsider… she’s kind of got that Sarah Palin thing going on..”

And Adam Brickley said: “After spending a few minutes with her – I think this woman definitely has a shot. For one, she is a PISTOL - and I’m not even sure that term does her justice, even when bolded, italicized, underlined, and capitalized. She sat and chewed that fat with several bloggers for a few minutes - and this woman doesn’t just come off as a real person, she IS a real person. In all my political experience I have NEVER met a candidate with such a total lack of pretension.”

In Katherine's case, she enlisted in the Army at the age of 19. She's spent good chunks of her life in the deserts of the Middle East in the Persian Gulf War (one of her nicknames is "Desert Kate") and on the base at the home of the 82d Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, NC. She's made 15 airborne jumps and spent time training soldiers for deployment to the Middle East. In her spare time, she has four terrific kids.

You don't meet a lot of rich people in the military. You meet a lot of great people who have modest means (to say the least) and immodest levels of confidence and courage. You don't hobnob with the special interest groups that hand out campaign cash for "favors."

Katherine is not the kind of person who trades cash for favors. Katherine is the kind of person who invariably does the right thing and says that the only strings attached to her are from the voters and the people of America.  Katherine has strong support from the Tea Party and 9/12 movements. But again, such people tend to be ordinary Americans who don't have wallets or pocketbooks loaded with cash.

Please see Katherine at the Tea Party gathering: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnmmaHLDm50

Interesting; a local editorial columnist said: “Katherine Jenerette of North Myrtle Beach, an Army paratrooper, was essentially a Tea Party activist before there were Tea Parties…” So, do I think Katherine will win? To use Sarah Palin's favorite line, "You betcha." She has spent her entire life over-achieving. She's someone who's taken on challenges much greater than those faced by most Americans, including her opponents in this years' race. Like the savvy South Carolinian she is, Katherine will outsmart her opponents most of the time -- and outwork them all the time.

Even a National Leftwing Blogger said of Katherine: “…she's no dummy. She also has more charisma than the whole Republican Party machine that's trying to tear her down…”Katherine Jenerette needs your support -- your prayers, your volunteer help, and your donations -- to win the June primary and the November election. With your help, she will win . . . and the ultimate winner will be the United States of America."
Hey, please sign up as one of her friends on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Katherine-Jenerette/193243500669
P.S. Please tell your friends and family in SC and around the nation about a remarkable congressional candidate: Katherine Jenerette.

"Search Neutrality" by Stephen Maloney

"Search Neutrality" basically means fairness by search companies in providing links to stories, issues, and candidates -- and Google is far from being fair.  Please go to my friends blog  SteveMaloneyGOP and read up on "Search Neutrality" and please feel free to share this article with others.  Kudos to my friend Steve for a fantastic article about this issue.
"Google, the self-described "information company," has a dirty little secret.

It doesn't practice search neutrality -- doesn't play fair -- when it provides links to companies, candidates, and issues. In fact, it recently put one small company -- a mini-competitor -- out of business by refusing to provide links.

In search, Google dominates 80% of the market, and it clearly wants 100%. If Google weren't in Obama's hip pocket, that might not so horrifying.

Think Google's failure to practice search neutrality -- basic fairness -- couldn't swing a presidential election? Well, think again." - Steve Maloney

DaTechGuy's comments and photos on Jenerette at TEA Party

DaTechGuy showcases Katherine at recent local TEA Party at the Train Depot, South Caroline
"It’s hard to stand out in such a crowded field, I think Jenerette’s decision to attend CPAC and to rub elbows with bloggers like myself was a very good move in that respect. That is a question of showing initiative. It would certainly have been worth the while of the other potential candidates to do so. Of course being on the right side of the tea party groups never hurts either."

More to come on Katherine from Steve Maloney..

Please stay tuned, my friend Steve Maloney will be writing about Katherine Jenerette.  You can visit his blog here
"Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 10) I'll be writing about Katherine Jenerette, candidate for the House of Representatives from South Carolina's 1st district (from Charleston along the coast to the NC border). A Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve, Katherine has made 15 parachute jumps and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. She deserves national support; she may be the nation's best Republican candidate for Congress. She also may be the toughest." - Steve Maloney

"I think we can do it, No, I know we can do it."

"My philosophy is that if I get elected, I won't just be representing the right, left or either extreme or the people in the middle - I represent them all.

Maybe the Army is responsible for my perspective. I joined when I was 19 and I never asked the soldiers that I went with the Persian Gulf War with whether they were Democrats or Republicans and they never asked me.

My duty was to those serving with me - and that's how I see going to Congress. My duty is to the people of my district.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some moderate or liberal and most people view my issues as being right-winged conservative. But, I view myself as a Constitutionalist. But I will not forget that I serve the people of my district and that includes the richest businessmen in the district and it includes single-moms with kids who are trying to get them through school to educate them and the ordinary people like me who go to work and pay their taxes and wished their government wasn't so damn big. (I've always thought that the bigger the government, the smaller the individual - that one small voice is important because when we lose that, we lose what the American dream is all about).

I'm just wanting to find solutions to our problems which is nothing new. I think we can do it. No, I know we can do it." - Katherine Jenerette

Not Your Typical "Good Ole' Boy" For Congress..

South Carolina GOP Primary choice for limited government Conservatives
by Stephen Maloney, Pennsylvania

"Scott Brown won his monumental victory on Tuesday because of American patriots dedicated to protecting our Constitution and preserving our way of life.

I’ll forever be grateful that so many people trusted me six weeks ago, when I suggested long before he was on anybody’s radar screen, that electing then-little-known Lt. Col. Scott Brown was vital to America’s future. (See one of my original post here at Libertarian Republican on Scott Brown’s campaign.)
Now, I’m asking you to trust me again in supporting and promoting the candidacy of Katherine Jenerette, a commissioned Army officer from the legendary 82nd Airborne Division.

I deeply believe that my friend, Katherine, has the same character, devotion to country, and commitment to conservative limited government values that Americans have found in Scott Brown.
Katherine’s running for Congress in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, one that stretches along the coast from Charleston all the way up to the North Carolina border. She is running, just as Scott Brown did, against the concept of family dynasties “owning” a seat and the reality of “good ole boy” politics.
She is an underdog; but I assure you, we will this contest. As Katherine says, “I don’t fight like a girl; I fight like a PARATROOPER.”

Please take a quick look Katherine’s campaign website, and you will discover an American woman with the same character and unlimited potential we find in Sarah Palin,Michele Bachmann, and Liz Cheney"
From Katherine:

"Obviously, I’m not your garden-variety politician, and that not just because I jump out of airplanes . . . and drive a pickup. I’ve been called “the good ole boys worst nightmare” because I don’t believe in political chicanery, back-room deals, special-interest deals, or dynasties. If you send me to Washington, DC, I won’t be one that goes along . . . to get along. In my military career, I’ve sworn to protect my fellow Americans and our Constitution. That oath is a lifetime commitment.
Like most people in this state, I’m a conservative and, constitutionally, a strict constructionist. I believe in “the 3 Fs,” faith in God, family, and fidelity to our country.
I’m pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-private enterprise, and pro-military. In my Army career, I’ve been willing to give my life, if necessary, for our beloved nation, and now I’m willing to devote my life to serving God, my brother and sister South Carolinians, and my fellow Americans."
Again, I’m asking you to adopt — and embrace the candidacy of –this remarkable woman — Katherine — committed to winning a tough election and primary. With your strong support, victory will be a certainty. Please support this mother (of four), soldier, patriot, and leader. - Steve Maloney

Change Due In Congress..

Article written by Jason Lesley of GTOWNTIMES

Katherine Jenerette says she has entered the Republican primary for the First District Congressional seat out of frustration with the GOP.
"The Democrats have a home team advantage now," Jenerette says, "and Republicans need a congressman who can go toe-to-toe with them. We've had a Republican Congress for six years, and we can have more of the same or we can have someone in there that will make a difference.
"I am not afraid to say what needs to be said and push legislation for family and values, fiscal responsibility, national security and subjects like immigration and border control. Republicans have let liberals run their agenda. Republican values and principals on issues of life, health care, Social Security and marriage issues have been put on the side burner. The Republican members of Congress need to do a better job of getting out our messages and sticking to them."
Jenerette joins four-time incumbent Henry Brown of Hanahan and Paul Norris of Johns Island in the Republican primary on June 10.
Jenerette worked for Rep. Brown as a U.S. Congressional field representative for the 1st District and says that job provided her with valuable experience.
"My time as a field representative for our district allowed me to understand the nuts and bolts of local, state and federal government at work with one another," she said. "I understand our business concerns, our tourism industry, our environmental concerns, our veterans' issues and needs, and our growing retiree population's concern for their future.
"But most of all, I understand that government and being a congressman is about people who get up in the morning, go to work, or send their kids to school, open the doors of their businesses and do the best they can in a bureaucratic framework."

A Georgetown office
Jenerette promises to re-open a congressional office in Georgetown and be more accountable to the voters.
"If I could, I'd set it up right in the Rice Museum Clock Tower if that would make it easier for people to find the office with blinking lights that say "I'm Katherine Jenerette, your very own congressman, come on in, coffee will be waiting for you."
Jenerette said that her legislative priorities are: the economy, national security, health care, education, roads and infrastructure, out-of control spending, Illegal Immigration and compulsory military service.
"The top three problems that I'm hearing about are the economy, the economy and the economy," she says. "Of course, the price of gas is part of the economic problem. And people have a hard time understanding how gas prices have essentially doubled in the past two years. That hits everyone's budget real hard, whether you are an individual going to work, or a business trying to operate in the green - that's a real big problem.
"The blame is not hard to pinpoint. It's the Congress. Whether we like it or not, 435 elected representatives set the budget and policy agenda for this entire country. The president can't do it by himself, the courts can't do it by themselves, and so if you have problems with what's going on in this nation today, you do not have to look any further than your own congressman and the other congressmen in Washington, D.C. I'm not saying that the problems are easy to fix, but at least we should be honest enough to put the blame where it belongs."

Gulf War veteran
Jenerette says she is not a typical politician. She is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, and a U.S. Army Reserve officer. The name Jenerette has been prominent in South Carolina's political circles for decades.
"I don't want to mention the Capital steps, but the name Jenerette is synonymous with politics in South Carolina. Put me on a stage with five men running for office and I will stand out because I'm more than just a pretty face in a skirt - I'm an Army Airborne Paratrooper and I drive a pick-up truck and I'm 39-years old. I think Jenerette name recognition will come under its own steam."
Jenerette received a direct commission last year, and Sen. John McCain presented her lieutenant's bars in a ceremony in North Myrtle Beach.
"As a U.S. Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War, I know how we were treated compared to the bad treatment our Korean War and Vietnam War veterans received," Jenerette said. " =As a commissioned officer still serving in the Army Reserves I see how things are today, but it still is a long way from where we should be. Our veterans should be treated like our rock stars because of what they have done for our country; no nation can last long if it asks its young men and women to put on the uniform and risk the ultimate sacrifice for their nation and then turn around and forget them. As a congressman, our veterans and their families will not be forgotten by me and I will aggressively carry their issues to Washington and fight tirelessly for their health care, their education benefits, and a New GI Bill that is more then overdue.
"As for our active duty, Reserve and National Guard personnel and their families, they have to have the best equipment, the best leadership, the best living conditions that we can provide and the best support system when they deployed overseas. I will not stand by and allow any politician to use our troops as a political football for their political agendas. For me it's personal, and they will have a fight on their hands.
"Withdrawal from Iraq will not remove security threats and reduce our vital interests from that area. Iraq and the Middle East do not stop being in our long term national interests just because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and some naive congressmen and Sen. Barack Obama say so."
Jenerette has sought office before, running for the Horry County School Board in 1998 and a state Senate seat in 2004. She said she favors a federal hiring freeze and the Fair Tax, a plan to eliminate the income tax by significantly raising the sales tax.
After coming home from the Gulf War, Jenerette attended Coastal Carolina University on a cross country and track scholarship. While in the Army, she competed in the U.S. Army Europe Track and Field Championships, and as a walk-on at Coastal Carolina she was named to the NCAA Track and Field Big South Conference in 1994. She graduated from CCU with a degree in history in 1995 and received her masters degree from USC in Columbia in 1997.
Jenerette is married to Van Jenerette, and the mother of four children. Van Jenerette served as a policy adviser to Brown and was a candidate for the First District congressional seat in 2000.
"If elected," she said, "I will be a congressman that will be everywhere at all times for all the people of our district. I'm old enough to know what needs to be done as a congressman, and I'm young enough to 'hit the ground running' and make things happen. Nothing against being older, I would like to be there some day myself, but our times call for an aggressive, optimistic, realistic approach to the job of a U.S. Congressman in the 1st District South Carolina in the 21st century."

Adam Brickley on Jenerette..

Adam Brickley spoke with Katherine Jenerette at CPAC and had nothing but kind words for her...  Mr. Brickley also comments on how impressed he was with Mrs. Jenerette and how easily it is to relate to her.

"A lot of congressional candidates have made the rounds here at the CPAC bloggers lounge – some decent, some nutty, some with a chance, some with no chance in hell. Of those – a few have really impressed me – and we can add Katherine Jenerette of South Carolina to that list.
Jenerette, a veteran and paratrooper in the Army Reserve, has a tough race in the GOP Primary to succeed retiring Rep. Henry Brown. Among her opponents are Paul Thurmond,  the youngest son of Strom Thurmond, and and Caroll Campbell III, the son of former Governor Carroll Campbell. However, I will say that Jenerette has the drive and the strategy to succeed. She ran a tough campaign in the primary against Rep. Brown in 2008, and managed to win 19% of the vote with a shoestring budget.  This time, she’s back for more – and now she’s in decent position as a Tea Partier facing off against a more fractured field of establishment opponents.
After spending a few minutes with her – I think this woman definitely has a shot. For one, she is a PISTOL - and I’m not even sure that term does her justice, even when bolded, italicized, underlined, and capitalized. She sat and chewed that fat with several bloggers for a few minutes - and this woman doesn’t just come off as a real person, she IS a real person. In all my political experience I have NEVER met a candidate with such a total lack of pretension."
